ABOUT BUDGET JUSTICE COALITION

THE POSITION

Ensuring Opportunity looks for a part-time Program Manager to direct and supervise Budget Justice Coalition programs, activities, and future development. The Budget Justice Coalition Program Manager is a worker of RCF Connects and reports to the Senior Director of the Ensuring Opportunity Campaign.

Job duties consist of:

  • Engage, coordinate and assistance union members in spending plan advocacy activities
  • Develop efficient relationships and consult with the Board of Supervisors, the County Chief Administrators Office, County department directors, and other County and neighborhood stakeholders, consisting of citizens most straight affected by the Countys budgeting top priorities and choices.
  • Monitor, research study and evaluate County spending plans (proposed and real), unique financing efforts, spending plan reports, and other budget-related procedures.

  • Support racial equity and social justice efforts as they associate with spending plan concerns
  • Develop and provide training and discussions on the County budget plan file and County budgeting procedures
  • Develop strong working relationships with partner companies, both within Contra Costa County and regionally
  • Develop and share citizen education products relating to budget plan matters
  • In collaboration with the Ensuring Opportunity Senior Director and RCFs advancement personnel, raise funds (mostly from structures) to support BJCs work.
  • Lead routine preparation efforts with the Steering Committee and complete subscription to recognize BJCs objectives and goals
  • Work with RCFs interactions group to keep the BJC site, send out newsletters and other updates, and construct a social networks existence.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated abilities in neighborhood arranging; able to develop and lead unions and handle varied constituencies and stakeholders.
  • Basic monetary literacy and analytical abilities.
  • Facility with spreadsheets.
  • Understanding of standard budgeting concepts

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
