MCC Theater Let’s Talk Series

SAT NOV 16, 2019 at 3: 45 PM
The Newman Mills Theater at the
THE ROBERT W. WILSON MCC THEATER AREA
511 W 52 ST

What occurs when a scholar, a think tank director, a criminal defense lawyer and 2 artists stroll into a theater? They are combined by MCC’s THE INCORRECT GUY, a brand-new musical that follows Duran, a male founded guilty of a criminal offense he did not devote. Through ingenious creative modes of tune and choreography, THE INCORRECT MALE postures crucial concerns about individual duty and dehumanization within the prison-industrial complex. This panel will think about possible responses about how to analyze policing and prosecution, how to resolve their deficiencies for particular neighborhoods, and how to promote re-entry of returning people into society. Moderated by Dr. Kareem Crayton (Executive Director, the Southern Union for Social Justice) and including Elizabeth Felber (Supervising Lawyer, the Legal Help Society’s Wrongful Convictions System), THE INCORRECT MALE cast members Tilly Evans-Kreuger and Ciara Renée, and in collaboration with the Institute for Development in Prosecution at John Jay College of Wrongdoer Justice.

Our regular monthly panel conversations combine guest professionals, neighborhood leaders, and peers to check out essential problems appropriate to our times or raised in our work. Panels are complimentary and available to the general public, even if you have not seen our work.
