Race, the Criminal Justice System, and Career|2020 Virtual Diversity Symposium

This discussion belongs to the 20 th Annual (virtual) Diversity Symposium, held October 19-23, 2020 by the Office of the Vice President for Diversity at Colorado State University.

Session Description: This session will talk about the crossways of race, the criminal justice system, and profession. We will take a look at how interactions with the justice system impact profession potential customers & results, how the economy connects with jails, and how racial predisposition and discrimination substances these unfavorable effects, particularly for black individuals in America. We will share present research study based greatly on the work of Michelle Alexander and Bryan Stevenson, to name a few scholars and activists, welcome individuals to share individual experiences and understanding, and talk about possible action steps progressing.
