Rickie legally went into the United States as a Cambodian refugee. Long after having served his time in jail, he now deals with deportation for his 20- year-old convictions in Pennsylvania, particularly a misdemeanor and a gun ownership for a criminal activity he did not dedicate. Now, he’s waiting to see if he can get a pardon and stop residing in worry of deportation.
This is “The Power of a Pardon,” a five-part series checking out the intimate and, sometimes, stressful journeys of 5 people as they demonstrate how life-altering a pardon can be when attempting to develop a life after jail.
