After the fast advancement of global criminal justice in the late 20 th and early 21 st century, current years appear to show a system in crisis, especially with the war in Syria and other disputes, along with the United States sanctions versus the ICC Prosecutor and senior personnel.
UNITAR collected Ms. Olga Kavran, Fellow at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, previous Spokesperson for the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal for the previous Yugoslavia (ICTY) and Head of Outreach and Legacy at the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL), and Dr. Mark Drumbl, Professor of Law and Director of the Transnational Law Institute at the Washington and Lee University, to go over modern obstacles to worldwide criminal law and possible courses of reform.
