A wave of dreadful murders stimulated a push for a parliamentary questions into Victoria’s criminal justice system. The Legislative Council Legal and Social Issues Committee introduced the general public hearing stage of its landmark probe in Wangaratta. Regional organisations Merri Health Hume Region, The Centre for Continuing Education, the Centre Against Violence were represented and victims of criminal activity shared their experiences.
