Why does SNHU have a bad rep?

I was not aware that SNHU had a bad reputation. I have been teaching online for SNHU for three and half years. I cannot address the student side. They are the largest non-profit (accredited) online university in the country and continue to grow and add new programs like Creative Writing. That would speak to a good reputation not a bad one. My experience is that faculty and staff always try to work together for the best interest of the students more than some other places that I worked for. They are bound by the same laws and regulations that govern all higher institutions of education regarding financial aid. Individual experiences will vary. Like all large institutions, often the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. I cannot address what happens on the on ground campus. I know that my students for the most part express a high satisfaction with the course and the school. For many students, online education is the only viable option for higher education. SNHU fulfills a very vital function in the academic community. While there is always room for improvement (and I do not work in administration), I believe that SNHU has earned a very positive reputation in higher education going from a very small online program to the largest in the nation!
