Minimum Biweekly Rate of Pay: $1,20000 Bi-Weekly (In accordance with present costs constraints, if the visit is an internal promo, the position will be filled at the minimum of the pay grade or approximately 5% of the worker’s existing rate, whichever greater.)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for sticking to firm and center policies and treatments. Accountable for keeping a safe and protected environment for youth, themselves and other personnel. Makes day-to-day regular assessments of detention center, monitoring and advising employees in the care and custody of youth and makes sure that sufficient safeguards are kept for the apprehended youth.

Performs administrative functions relative to a supervisory position, consisting of orientation and the training of personnel; handling leave & participation; preparing assessments, unique habits reports, flooring logs, and youth folders; keeping crucial control; starting and carrying out disciplinary actions in accordance with authorized policies and treatments; and preparing and evaluating confinement reports. Follows all the state policies and makes sure that the pertinent bargaining system’s master agreement is followed in the handling secondary personnel.

Maintains a legitimate Driver License and reports any modification to his/her manager within 72 hours. Will not purposefully drive a state lorry or utilize a personal car on state company if his/her license is withdrawed, suspended, or offered any curtailment of usage.

Ensures that all center youth clothes is appropriately taken care of, kept, and represented. Guarantees that all youth have tidy socks and underclothing daily. Strictly liable for appointing personnel to browse youth at admission and correctly gets and represents the documents. Guarantees correct usage of the cleaning makers by personnel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of the Department of Juvenile Justice Detention Services Manual, Federal and State guidelines and policies, and DJJ and center policies and treatments.

Ability to monitor personnel and youth.

Ability to physically deal with and connect with violent youth.

Ability to work overtime hours in order to make sure personnel protection and keep security.

SPECIAL NOTES:

All potential prospects will go through a sex transgressor check, criminal background checks, (state, regional and nationwide) and pre-employment drug screening for direct care positions.

DJJ takes part in E-Verify (Employment Eligibility).

When determined on a position description, a legitimate chauffeur’s license is needed.
