We are seeking a customer-service minded PRN/ On-Call Patient Services Coordinator to join our team in Columbia, TN. The Patient Services Coordinator is responsible for educating new patients about the Cordant Pharmacy Program, onboarding and enrolling patients, and delivering prescription medications to patients at an assigned client location. This role also acts as a liaison to Cordant’s pharmacy, provides information about the Cordant Pharmacy Program, and resolves any emerging problems that may arise in assigned client accounts. The Patient Services Coordinator must maintain a high degree of security, ethical conduct, and provide excellent customer service to clients and patients. Laboratory collection responsibilities may also be required, depending on the needs of the client the Patient Services Coordinator supports.

This Patient Services Coordinator role is compensated between $13.50 – $15.25 per hour. This position will be on-call to cover for staff absences, providing coverage for the day shift. PRN/On-Call schedules will be set with as much notice as possible based on staff absences, but some last-minute fill-ins will be required covering for sick-time, etc.

Essential Functions:
Pharmacy Patient Services
- On-board and enroll patients into Cordant Pharmacy Program
- Obtain, file, ship, or fax any paperwork associated with the prescription
- Maintain call, shipping, and medication delivery logs
- Receive delivery of patient medications, via courier drop-off or direct pick-up at pharmacy or local shipping carriers
- Verify patient identity prior to delivery and ensure accurate entry of demographic information
- Deliver medication to patients seen by the provider, per provider and prescriber direction
- Return undelivered medication to the pharmacy at the end of each day
- Maintain security of medications
- Assist with prior authorization process as needed
- Liaise between the pharmacy and client to ensure prescriptions are prepared for delivery based on patients’ schedule, working ahead as-needed
- Build strong working relationships and trust with providers, patients and pharmacy staff
- Provide accurate, valid and complete information in portal entries
- Provide appropriate solutions and alternatives, within compliance guidelines, for patients or provider complaints
- Meet patient capture rate and prescription return rate targets
Laboratory Collection
- Courier packages from local shipping affiliates to laboratory for testing
- Collect, log, order, process, and ship urine, blood, oral, and/or hair specimens to laboratory
- Maintain organization in the collection of all specimens
- Assemble samples for shipping
- File requisitions, chain of custody forms, and associated paperwork
Additional Duties:
- Provide clear documentation in portal around prescriptions
- Follow all procedures, guidelines and policies
- Keep detailed record of client and patient interactions
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace that is conducive to workflow
- Pick-up or drop-off prescriptions to pharmacy/FedEx drop site, as needed
Education and Experience:
- HS diploma or GED, required
- Experience in a medical office or treatment clinic preferred
- 2+ years customer service experience, required
- Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance, required
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills with ability to actively listen
- High degree of trustworthiness and ethical conduct
- Ability to read names, test codes, follow basic instructions
- Must have basic computer skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
- Self-motivated with ability to work under and meet strict deadlines individually as well as a in a team environment
- Familiarity with working in multiple CRM systems
- Track record of over-achieving quota
Working Conditions:
- Contact with biological specimens
- Requires protective devices
- May be required to lift up to 25lbs
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to perform observed collections if required
- Must be able to work in fast paced environments efficiently
