Job Description

Provides day-to-day supervision and training to staff under the direction of the Chief or Deputy Chief Probation Officer. Assigns cases and investigations. Prepares Employee Work Profiles and evaluates employee work performance formally and informally on an ongoing basis. Reviews Officer’s Casework and Pre-sentence reports. Assists Chief and Deputy Chief Probation Officer in carrying out administrative functions. Acts as Unit Manager in the absence of the Chief or Deputy Chief Probation Officer.
Minimum Qualifications
Valid driver’s license. Considerable experience working in a probation and parole setting. Experience providing individual counseling; managing a caseload of adults offenders; writing and presenting reports to official or administrative entities; interviewing people for the purpose of gathering information; planning and directing projects; and training others.
Preferred Qualifications
Prefer graduation from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology, Sociology/Social Work, Criminal Justice, or English or equivalent training and/or experience.
