Division Project Manager

Description of Work

This position will serve as Division Project Manager and reports to the Director of Performance and Standards. Position will be responsible for consultation, oversight, evaluation, planning, monitoring, implementing and reporting on a variety of short and long range projects. Work may be assigned by the supervisor or the Commissioner of Prisons. Position will facilitate and implement projects and initiatives which cross over all operational areas and will be responsible for providing comprehensive day to day administrative and operational guidance on projects. This position will be required to maintain statistics and data and will provide progress reports and presentations on both a routine basis and at formal or large conferences and meetings. This position will be required to work closely with agency, division and region officials and will serve as an authority on projects and must stay abreast of progress at all times. This position is required to manage multiple projects at the same time.

If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.

To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:

  • Demonstrated experience in program development, analysis and evaluation
  • Demonstrated experience to plan, coordinate and direct statewide development programs
  • Demonstrated experience of the principles and practices of public and business administration, particularly as they relate to program development

Management Preference: Five (5) years supervisory experience with NC Department of Public Safety, Division of Adult Corrections.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution; and five (5) years of progressively responsible program experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
