The Department of Economics in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Colorado Denver invites applications for a one-year Instructor position in Applied Economics with a concentration in econometrics and introductory courses for the 2021/2022 academic year.

The department seeks highly motivated candidates who demonstrate the potential to teach our econometrics and statistics with computer applications recitations and introductory courses at the undergraduate level.

Examples of Work Performed

Over the course of this temporary position, the instructor will engage fully in the college through 90% teaching (including four econometrics recitations, two statistics with computer applications recitations, and three principles of microeconomics courses for the academic year) and 10% department service. A commitment to excellent teaching is required.

Conditions of Employment

Able to teach in-person during 2021/2022 academic year.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $ $41,814 – $51,814

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Economics or a related area.
  • Demonstrated accomplishments in teaching independently at the college level for at least two years.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Economics with a commitment to undergraduate level education.
  • Evidence of applied economics teaching econometrics and introductory courses.
  • Previous scholarly work.
