Full-time.
Monitors, guides, and/or advises the work tasks of secondary personnel. Supplies social services to help in rehab of youth. Makes suggestions for actions including formula of rehab strategy and treatment of youth, consisting of conditional release and education and work terms.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interview youth frequently to assess their development in achieving objectives and preserving the terms defined in their probation agreements and rehab strategies.
- Recommend therapeutic action or start court action in reaction to non-compliance with regards to probation.
- Administer alcohol and drug tests, consisting of random drug screens of youth to confirm compliance with drug abuse treatment programs. Prepare and preserve case folder for each designated youth.
- Talk about with youth how such problems as alcohol and drug abuse and anger management issues may have contributed in their criminal habits.
- Conduct pre-hearing and pre-screening examinations and affirm in court relating to youth’s backgrounds and suggest sentences and sentencing conditions.
- Inform youth of requirements of conditional release, such as workplace check outs, restitution payments, or academic and work terms.
- Compose reports explaining youth development. Examine legal problems. Compose reports or examinations. Counsel customers or clients with drug abuse concerns.
- Schedule medical, psychological health, or drug abuse treatment services according to specific requirements or court orders.
- Monitor individuals on community-based sentences, such as digitally kept an eye on house detention, and offer field guidance of probationers by carrying out curfew checks or sees to house, work, or school.
MINIMUM CERTIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in an associated field from a certified college or university AND 3 years of experience in a human services shipment setting
- Or More years of experience needed at the lower level Juv. Probation/Parole Specification 3 (SSP132) or position equivalent.
PREFERRED CREDENTIALS:
Choice will be provided to candidates who, in addition to fulfilling the minimum certifications, have 2 or more of the following: Conclusion of a master’s degree from a recognized college or university in Psychology, Sociology, Lawbreaker Justice, Social Work, or Education or Organization.
- 5 or more years of experience in the juvenile justice system.
- 2 or more years of experience handling a spending plan for a program and/or a company.
- 2 or more years of experience monitoring or handling personnel in a human services shipment setting.
