Neighborhoods In Schools (CIS) of Chicago is a not-for-profit company that operates in collaboration with Chicago Public Schools (CPS) and neighborhood companies to assist trainees remain in school and succeed. Throughout the 2019-2020 academic year, CIS of Chicago will partner with 175 Chicago public schools to link more than 1,800 services and programs to more than 70,000 CPS trainees and their households by leveraging neighborhood partner programs and services. In addition, CIS of Chicago locations full-time Trainee Supports Supervisors (SSMs) in 31 Chicago public schools – our Intensive School partners. The Trainee Supports Supervisor (SSM) position will execute the CIS of Chicago incorporated trainee services program. Each SSM is positioned in one Chicago Public School partner school. The SSM will offer integrated trainee services attending to both school-wide avoidance, education, and enrichment concerns in addition to targeted and continual assistance and interventions for specific trainees.

Credentials:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work or Therapy chosen
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience dealing with teenagers, their households, and city public schools is extremely preferred

Workplace: The position will be mainly found in appointed Chicago public school website. Schools websites are either primary or high school and lie throughout the city of Chicago. Training, weekly group guidance and group conferences, and month-to-month personnel conferences will happen mostly at the CIS of Chicago workplace.

Set up: This position is a full-time, year-round position and follows CIS of Chicago’s vacation and holiday time calendar and matching policies (versus that of CPS).
