Department of Homeland Security/ Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation/ Southern Regional Jail/ Fayette, Greenbrier, Raleigh, Summers, Wyoming, Mercer Counties – An employee in this class performs a variety of tasks related to the classification of inmates and programming for inmates in a Regional Jail. The work may involve a high degree of mental stress from constant contact with inmates. This employee must have the ability to prepare initial classification and reclassification summaries as a member of the classification committee. Provide both individual and group counseling for inmates. Coordinate and supervise social services and programs for the inmates. Consult with medical and mental health professionals regarding treatment for inmates. Under the direction of the unit manager, must be able to prepare individual treatment plans for inmates. Review and evaluate progress of inmates as it relates to defined treatment plan. Complete and distribute inmate financial affidavits. Perform related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications
Training: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in criminal justice, corrections, psychology, sociology, counseling, counseling and guidance, education, therapeutic recreation or closely related field.
