Task Description

Offers very first line guidance to Corrections Officers and Corrections Officer Trainees in an institutional setting. Monitors and keeps track of personnel on appointed shift to make sure a safe and safe and secure environment. Interacts with management, personnel, visitors, transgressors and the general public. Leads and counsels personnel. Finishes needed training. Preserves a safe and efficient labor force.

Minimum Certifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Legitimate Motorists License. Present DCJS accreditations. Working understanding and understanding of correctional policies, treatments and practices. Capability to work individually with minimum guidance. Shown capability to arrange, strategy, schedule and monitor the work of others. Shown capability to check out and understand workplace policies and treatments and to prepare work environment reports and paperwork. Capability to adequately get, comprehend, follow and offer oral and written directions.

Preferred Credentials

Prefer previous supervisory experience. Prefer coursework at a neighborhood college, college, or university with coursework in criminal justice or an associated field or comparable training or experience. Prefer showed capability to produce written reports utilizing a computer system. Prefer fluency in Spanish.

Unique Requirements
