The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) employs more than 1,900 members statewide – either at headquarters in Tallahassee or in one of seven regional operations centers (ROCs). To be considered as a potential candidate, you must meet the minimum qualifications(s) listed below. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

  • Fiscal experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required bachelor’s degree.
  • Any combination of this experience and college education can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
  • Completion of a 720-hour program of study from a vocational/technical school or accredited community college in the area of accounting can substitute for one year of the required experience.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is responsible for managing the invoice payment approval process in MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP) and Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR) for the assigned accounts payable team. Specific duties include:

  • Providing training on FLAIR, MFMP and invoice auditing rules;
  • Creating, auditing and approving MFMP invoices;
  • Monitoring the status of unpaid invoices using the MFMP Invoice Reconciliation (IR) Last Approver report;
  • Submitting voucher reductions and deletion requests to the Department of Financial Services (DFS);
  • Handling invoices returned by the DFS with audit questions;
  • Reviewing the FLAIR voucher audit screen and Voucher Aging Report to ensure vouchers are timely posted by the DFS;
  • Reviewing and reconciling FLAIR encumbrances against the Payment Tracking Log including total previous payments to ensure balances are accurate;
  • Reviewing and signing voucher documents for invoice payments and inter-agency journal vouchers processed through FLAIR;
  • Providing recommendations concerning the voucher and payment review process;
  • Running and creating various MFMP Secure Reports to monitor transactions; and
  • Reviewing certified forward encumbrances and payables at year end.

  • Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures;
  • Knowledge of personal computers;
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to an accounting program;
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Ability to utilize problem solving techniques;
  • Ability to analyze and interpret accounting data; and
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
