The objective of Correctional Managed Care is to resolve the health care requirements of underserved client populations within the Texas Department of Lawbreaker Justice (TDCJ) and the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD).

TASK SUMMARY:

Qualified clinician to supply direct nursing care to an assigned group of clients and has understanding and ability to satisfy requirements for proficient expert nursing practice as defined in the Texas Nurse Practice Act. Properly operates as a member of an interdisciplinary care group which is focused and patient focused. Handles unforeseen or emergency situation circumstances that are frequently seen in designated specialized population. Works as a resource for other nursing personnel.

NECESSARY TASK FUNCTIONS:

  • Properly and individually examines, strategies, carries out, examines, and files the everyday care of appointed clients.
  • Effectively recognizes clients care requirements, creates proper nursing medical diagnoses, establishes and embellishes care strategy, and modifies strategy of care as required.
  • Effectively carries out doctor’s orders for all designated clients. Administers medications and treatments and provides culturally in agreement and specialized proper proficient nursing care in accordance with UTMB, TDCJ and/or TJJD policies, treatments, and requirements in a caring and caring way.
  • Properly and separately carries out regular and intricate technical procedures/skills in appointed specialized location.
  • Properly and individually strategies, collaborates, and focuses on client care activities according to ability level and work intricacy.
  • Abides by internal controls developed for department.
  • Carries out associated tasks as needed.

DEVICES:

Basic client care materials, devices and mechanical gadgets.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Found within the boundaries of a jail, prison or juvenile detention. Security clearance is needed; pre-employment drug screening is likewise needed.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Registered Nurse (Registered Nurse) with 2 (2) years of medical Registered Nurse experience. Should have and preserve an existing license or legitimate license to practice in Texas. Present BLS-HP needed.

This is an open-pooled position. Candidates’ education/experience will be thought about and the position might be filled at a lower or greater level, as suitable. Candidates with less than 2 (2) years of experience will be thought about for a Nurse Clinician II – Outpatient or Nurse Clinician I – Outpatient position.

Income is commensurate with years of pertinent work experience.
