The objective of Correctional Managed Care is to deal with the health care requirements of underserved client populations within the Texas Department of Wrongdoer Justice (TDCJ) and the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD).
TASK SUMMARY:
To offer direct nursing care to an assigned group of clients and carries out nursing treatments within the scope of their education and showed capabilities.
NECESSARY TASK FUNCTIONS:
Offers direct nursing care to designated clients. Takes part in examining, preparation, executing and assessing the nursing care provided.
- Carries out admission, discharge, and transfer treatments.

- Securely and correctly administers medications and treatments.

DEVICES:

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Found within the boundaries of a jail, prison or juvenile detention. Security clearance is needed; pre-employment drug screening is likewise needed.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High school or equivalent. Graduation from a Certified Vocational Nurse Program and present license/permit as a professional nurse in the State of Texas. No experience needed.
Existing BLS-HP needed.
Income is commensurate with years of pertinent work experience.
