The objective of Correctional Managed Care is to attend to the health care requirements of underserved client populations within the Texas Department of Bad Guy Justice (TDCJ) and the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD).

TASK SUMMARY:

Qualified clinician to offer direct nursing care to an assigned group of clients and has understanding and ability to fulfill requirements for proficient expert nursing practice as defined in the Texas Nurse Practice Act. Effectively operates as a member of an interdisciplinary care group which is focused and patient focused. Handles unanticipated or emergency situation circumstances that are typically seen in designated specialized population. Functions as a resource for other nursing personnel.

NECESSARY TASK FUNCTIONS:

  • Effectively and separately evaluates, strategies, executes, assesses, and files the day-to-day care of designated clients.
  • Properly determines clients care requirements, creates proper nursing medical diagnoses, establishes and embellishes care strategy, and modifies strategy of care as required.
  • Properly carries out doctor’s orders for all designated clients. Administers medications and treatments and provides culturally consistent and specialized suitable skilled nursing care in accordance with UTMB, TDCJ and/or TJJD policies, treatments, and requirements in a caring and caring way.
  • Properly and separately carries out regular and complicated technical procedures/skills in designated specialized location.
  • Effectively and individually strategies, collaborates, and focuses on client care activities according to ability level and work intricacy.
  • Follows internal controls developed for department.
  • Carries out associated tasks as needed.

DEVICES:

Basic client care products, devices and mechanical gadgets.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Found within the boundaries of a jail, prison or juvenile detention. Security clearance is needed; pre-employment drug screening is likewise needed.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Registered Nurse (Registered Nurse) with 2 (2) years of scientific Registered Nurse experience. Should have and keep a present license or legitimate license to practice in Texas. Present BLS-HP needed.

This is an open-pooled position. Candidates’ education/experience will be thought about and the position might be filled at a lower or greater level, as suitable. Candidates with less than 2 (2) years of experience will be thought about for a Nurse Clinician II – Outpatient or Nurse Clinician I – Outpatient position.

Wage is commensurate with years of pertinent work experience.
