Position Summary
Under direct guidance of the Supervising Private Investigator, Deputy Inspector General and Chief, Deputy Inspector General, or Assistant Inspector General works as Detective. The incumbent is accountable for carrying out examinations in compliance with suitable laws, guidelines, and policies. Gathers, maintains, and evaluates proof; obtains details by means of interviews and other techniques; prepares investigative reports. This position includes working within limitations of authority on tasks of an exceptionally delicate and personal nature related to examinations and legal procedures.
Necessary Duties
- Interviews topics, witnesses, and other celebrations to collect, confirm, and/or prove proof.
- Carries out fixed and mobile monitoring.
- Gathers, examines, and translates info, paperwork, and physical proof.
- Files declarations, observations, and evidentiary products. Prepares case reports on all investigative action taken; and makes sure that reports are well-written, precise, succinct, comprehensive, and prompt.
- Preserves records of all details and product essential to open examinations; and recognizes, labels, and shops proof and makes sure the security of all relevant saved proof and details collected throughout the investigative procedure. Updates company systems with investigative details.
- Connects with Workplace of Executive Inspector General (OEIG) legal personnel and other companies under the jurisdiction of the OEIG, investigative entities within other companies, auditors, the Illinois Workplace of Chief Law Officer, and different police to guarantee expert cooperation and investigative efforts. Affirms in administrative and criminal court procedures, as required.
- Keeps existing on firm and state policies, guidelines, policies, and statutes.
EXTRA DUTIES: Carries out other responsibilities as needed or appointed which are fairly within the scope of the tasks mentioned above.

Minimum Requirements
- bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, police, public or company administration, or an associated location of research study or showed understanding, ability, psychological advancement, and experience comparable to 4 years of college; or 4 years of expert investigative experience in police or an associated field;-LRB-
- understanding of investigative strategies, practices, and principles;-LRB-
- capability to work out independent judgment and make noise choices efficiently;-LRB-
- capability to manage and deal with uncertain circumstances and concerns;-LRB-
- understanding of Illinois statutes, guidelines, and policies worrying disputes of interest and impropriety;-LRB-
- strong analytical, organizational, and issue resolving abilities;-LRB-
- high individual ethical requirements due to material of work products;-LRB-
- versatility to work separately along with in a group environment;-LRB-
- capability to take a trip, consisting of over night;-LRB-
- showed understanding of Microsoft Workplace Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and other applications; and
- capability to interact plainly and concisely, orally and in composing, and the capability to connect expertly with others.
Physical Elements
Tasks are usually carried out in a workplace setting and generally consists of:
- sitting for extended amount of times;-LRB-
- utilizing computer, copy machine, facsimile, telephone, and teleconference devices;-LRB-
- handling and transferring files weighing approximately 30 lbs.; and
- standing, reaching, and flexing at the waist or flexing of the legs.
Task Status
Full-time, FLSA non-exempt. This position is exempt from the arrangements of the State of Illinois Worker Code.
